Our Process
“The placement of students is absolutely critical to successful outcomes. Fridley Public Schools was sure to use multiple measures to initially select students that would be good candidates. We knew educator buy-in is really the most critical component. At FPS we worked to ensure understanding of the why behind the high impact tutoring. This also included showcasing the research that has shown successful outcomes as well as practices that led to less successful outcomes. We held information sessions with our principals and also our staff. I personally had the benefit of being an implementor of high impact tutoring in two districts and was able to speak specifically to the research and the implementation. While this approach takes strategy and time on the front end, the result is substantial student achievement gains particularly for students who are most present day and historically marginalized and excluded from public school systems.”

Reading
Early Reading
- Prepare students to read confidently by 3rd grade.
- Learn word recognition skills with phonemic awareness, phonics, and fluency practice

Reading Comprehension
